SHUKR is an Islamic clothing company dedicated to putting faith into fashion.

Launched in 2001, SHUKR was the first company to provide contemporary modest clothing which met the aesthetic and cultural needs of the new generation of Muslims living in the West. As the company has developed, it has also attracted loyal non-Muslim customers who are attracted by the stylish, modest clothing SHUKR offers. SHUKR is proud to be able to serve people of all religions who find that their faith encourages them to dress modestly, without having to sacrifice style and beauty.

SHUKR also aspires to be a model Islamic business by applying sacred Islamic values to a contemporary, multinational company. We follow fair trade and ethical labor practices, pursue a path of perfection by producing clothing of the highest standards, and apply Islamic financial and investment principles, avoiding interest-based financing.

SHUKR is an Arabic word found in the Qur’an which means gratitude or thanks. God mentions in the Qur’an: “If you give thanks (shukr), I shall certainly increase you” (Qur’an 14:7). The company SHUKR was named as a means of reminding ourselves and others of this important Qur’anic word and principle.
