Seen in SHUKR: You!
At SHUKR we are excited to announce that during the month of June, we are offering a giveaway of 250 USD (250 CAD for Canada fans or 150 GBP for our international fans) worth of clothing from our website.
To enter, please send 1) a picture of yourself in SHUKR clothing to contest[at]shukrclothing[dot]com (no larger than 500kb and in .jpg format), and please include 2) your full name and hometown. Then, 3) become a fan of our new Facebook page! We will soon be migrating away from our Facebook Group, but don’t worry–we won’t disappear entirely.
We will then add your photo to a new photo album (soon to be created and linked to) on our Facebook Page of our wonderful SHUKR fans. We do ask that typical standards of Islamic modesty be observed, or we may be unable to post your photo. Also, if you do not want us to display your whole name, just let us know. Finally, if any of the requested elements above are missing, unfortunately, you will not qualify for the random drawing. By entering, it means that you give us permission to post your photo.
The winner will be chosen randomly and announced on our Facebook page and blog on July 1st. That person will then receive an electronic gift certificate which they can use at their choosing, and does not expire.
Inshallah, this is just the beginning, as we have much more planned for you!
P.S. Please let us know what SHUKR garment you are wearing in your picture.

June 2nd, 2010 at 5:06 amAs-salam aleikum,
…and NOOOOOOO! I have been waiting for two months for the Pleiku tunic to be restocked so I could purchase it in the lovely Stone color I missed the last time. Today, as I opened my email I finally saw the newsletter announcing restocking the international site. So I go to the site…and the tunic I waited is already gone.
Really, Dear Whoever-is-in-charge-of-stocking-the-international-website. This isn’t fun any more. We both know that size 2XL sells out very, very fast. We know that items in that size almost never make it into your otherwise wonderful sales. Yet, you do not even offer half your designs in that size (and I have never seen sizes larger than 2XL stocked though they are mentioned in your sizing chart). When you do stock a few things in that size, it seems that you only stock one piece of each and not even in every color. This just does not seem like good business to me. How can we customers show that there is demand for your products if we are unable to buy them in the first place? Your designs are lovely, the quality is good and prices are reasonable…and all this matters very little as long as your stock is empty. I, for one, would be happy to buy my wardrobe full from you. But I can’t, because the items I’d love to wear are never available in my size. Oh, and I can’t benefit from your sales either (though at this point, that’s a minor issue). The best way for us customers to tell you what we really like that the items we like best sell out quickly. Looking from the stock situation of international site, that has been done when it comes to 2XL items. But you do not seem to take the hint. As a company who is both a manufacturer and a seller, it would seem that you are able to manufacture clothes according to the actual demand. So how come this situation exist? How come there is such a demand but no response whatsoever? If anything, during 2010 the selection of 2XL clothes has decreased. Doesn’t this sound even a little bit odd to you?
To me at least it would make sense to keep the international site best stocked because it serves the whole world. Perhaps sisters in UK are on the smaller side. But here in Scandinavia, it is common to be tall and large. We also have few options of buying decent clothes locally, so internet providers are our best hope. I truly look forward to an improvement in the situation, and I am quite sure I am not the only one.
Wa salaam,
Your frustrated but as-faithful-as-possible customer Danea

Sallam,
I wish you guys did a contest that I could take part in. As a practising Muslim woman, I do not post my pictures on the Internet. I love Shukr clothes and am a huge fan. It is just a huge shame I will not be able to take part in this contest. I am sure there are many other women who feel he same way about this contest.
Anyways, just my 2 cents. Keep making great clothes inshAllah!

We too are sorry that you are not able to participate. What sort of contest do you suggest instead? We are always open to ideas.
Many thanks,
